Lindstrom Audio - Close to live with open baffle
It is a fascinating series of loudspeakers that Lindström Audio has underway. I have now heard both ISO 85 and got a weekend listening at Lindström with the model that will be premiered at the Gothenburg Fair in October. I heard Lindström himself say, already about ISO 85, that they let out what you put in. I am usually very sceptical of such a statement. But I have never found it more apt. It is remarkable what range the speakers exhibit depending on "what you put in". You can adapt them to your own taste. Likewise, I am fascinated by the musical range they exhibit. They are just as easy on classical music as the Death Core genre. Although the larger speaker of course reaches even further, not least when it comes to the more complex classical music with a large orchestra. Another very appealing aspect is their ability to both exhibit a sweet spot but also offer a musical experience outside the sweet spot. Very gratifying. Thanks to their energy dispersion, perhaps because the design is such that the bass is completely silent at the back of the speaker and only spreads forward and to the sides, you disturb the environment and neighbours much less. It doesn't punch through walls and ceilings. The material he uses, coloured HDF, is also durable so it's fairly insensitive to shocks as it doesn't leave marks you can see from a distance.
