Hifiman's Susvara picks up where the HE1000SE leaves off. A whole world of amazingly vibrant, nuanced, colourful and characterful music emerges.
I am struck by its balanced and fluid music reproduction! I guess the probably unrivalled separation and resolution offers an unbeatable closeness and contact with the musical source which then spreads it to the listener and creates a source of wonderfully rich music listening! This happens with all sorts of music genres I've tried, ranging from Death Core, jazz to symphonic music etc.
I have played with
Ifi Audios Pro iCAN Signature (one of the few that can drive Susvara that requires at least 10W) and the Pro iDSD Signature. Both these devices have the phenomenal resource of being able to play in transistor mode, mixed transistor-tube mode and pure tube mode.
OBS! The Pro iDSD output signal needs to be set in Pro mode to get what is needed to
Pro iCan in turn will be able to run Susvara as it deserves!
NOTE! Remember to get a headphone amplifier that can handle it! I recommend
Ifi Audio Pro iCan (see below). You need at least 10W as the sensitivity is only 83dB! A standard headphone amplifier doesn't do it justice. It falls apart completely. If you have a standard headphone amplifier that you want to keep, I recommend
HE1000SE.
Frequency Response : 6Hz-75kHz
Impedance: 60Ω
Sensitivity: 83dB
Weight: 450g
