A comparison between Callisto and Sinope.ย

Final Touch Audio Callisto and Sinope are two USB cables with distinct characteristics.

Callisto is characterised by its high precision, transparency and fluid, natural performance. It creates a vast soundscape and has an engaging, lyrical presentation.

Sinope, on the other hand, provides a deeper soundscape and more accurate phase information, improving the rhythm of the music and the feeling of listening to live music. But Sinope is also distinguished by its more energetic and direct nature, which can be perceived as less soft and relaxed than Callisto.

Despite this, the general impression is that Sinope is the superior cable, both technically and musically, as it promotes more dynamics and engagement with the listener.

Description

The Final Touch Audio Callisto is unlike any other USB cable I've heard so far. Not only does it combine aspects that don't usually go together, like very high precision and huge transparency with a fluid, natural performance and a huge soundscape that completely envelops you, but it also has an extremely engaging and lyrical performance that really makes the music come alive.

The greater solidity makes the soundscape appear deeper than with the Callisto. In addition, I have a strong impression that the phase information is conveyed more accurately, based on the clearer localisation of spatial sounds and phasing effects that appear behind the listener. And in turn, this enhances the rhythm of the music, which in turn enhances the feeling of listening to live music.

One area where one might feel divided between Callisto and Sinope is that of fluidity and flow. While the Callisto has an extremely airy, refined and softly flowing performance reminiscent of the company's Ganymede XLR cable, the much more present and vibrant Sinope clearly deviates from this presentation. Because it is so much more energetic and direct, compared to the Callisto, one could also say that it is less gentle and relaxed. But honestly, I strongly feel that Sinope is the better cable, not only technically but also musically. Like Callisto, it makes me want to turn up the volume, but more than Callisto, it makes my foot stomp.

About Final Touch Audio

Final Touch Audio (FTA) is a small family business born out of pure love and dedication to music. The company combines technical skill with artistic craftsmanship as each product is made entirely by hand. Their products are not mass-produced, but rather treated as jewellery that real connoisseurs will appreciate.

Over the years, FTA has refined their design and manufacturing principles to a level where they feel confident that their products will serve and give you pleasure for many years to come. FTA's overall goal is to help you bring out every note from your system.

FTA's cables are made with carefully selected materials to create optimal sound. For example, Ganymede interconnects are made from a state-of-the-art copper alloy wrapped in cotton and impregnated in oil. After extensive testing, FTA has determined that only ETI's Kryo-treated silver connectors provide the desired results.

When it comes to the Callisto USB cable, FTA has set themselves the goal of exploring and using different types of materials than the rest of the industry, making them unique. FTA has studied the history and how katana swords have been produced, paying particular attention to forging and hammering techniques. They chose to use a copper wire that is not purified and contains a significant amount of gold and silver particles inside the wire. The wire has been mechanically treated (hammered) to achieve the desired dimensions and technical specification. The combination of these copper wires with hand-built dielectrics has made the Callisto USB cable a unique product on the market in terms of materials used, build quality and as a result, sound quality.

Final Touch Audio's cables are characterised by a perfectly balanced resolution in both the time-space and frequency spectrum.
