Ifi audio Adapter 2.5 - 4.4 (Pentaconn)

Ifi Audio Headphone Adapter 2,5mm to 4,4mm (Pentaconn) is a specialised adapter that converts your headphones with 2,5mm single-end connectors to work with a 4,4mm balanced output. The use of 4.4mm balanced outputs is becoming increasingly common, and not just in Ifi products. If you are tired of not being able to use your beloved 2.5mm single-end headphones with devices that have a 4.4mm balanced output, this adapter solves the problem easily.

Please note: Negative balanced signals are not connected to ground in the adapter, allowing a 2.5mm single-ended headphone plug to be converted for use with a balanced 4.4mm output without risk of damage to the amplifier. This adapter does not convert a single-ended plug to a balanced one - the connection remains single-ended.

The adapter is made of OFHC copper, which stands for Oxygen-Free High Thermal Conductivity. OFHC copper, also known as oxygen-free copper (OFC), conducts signals very well. Characteristic features of OFHC copper include greater ductility, high thermal and electrical conductivity, high shock resistance, greater resistance and an easier welding process. The conductivity of common metals, such as copper or silver, is limited by the presence of impurities and other defects. By reducing the extremely low level of impurities, the inherent properties of copper are greatly enhanced. The OFHC metals obtained in this way have a copper content of 99.99%.
