Giglio is, after Mediterraneo, one of Gold Note's best creations: it redefines the classic shape of a turntable by using quality materials and technical solutions that bring tradition and technology to new levels in these handmade turntables.
The design of the catenary-curved body is derived from one of the most important discoveries of the Renaissance, resulting in extra rigidity and allowing the Giglio to reproduce musical events with astonishing precision. The lower frame is made from sophisticated and locally sourced materials such as walnut, chosen for its exceptional elasticity, strength and high density. The wooden base is firmly positioned on three elegantly shaped and adjustable spikes of anodised aluminium.
Gold Note uses environmentally friendly protective varnishes for all their walnut disc players.
The Giglio has a 33mm thick disc plate and a precision bearing/spindle system designed for ultra-low tolerance. The polished pulley has an hourglass-shaped design that allows the belt to spin steadily, drastically reducing the "Wow & Flutter" and rumble effect.
The power supply for the 12-volt synchronous motor has been specifically developed to ensure good conditions for music reproduction.
Thanks to our proprietary power management system based on a Quadral-Core microcontroller, Giglio effectively reduces vibration and develops the high torque needed to achieve the greatest musical dynamics and resolution.
The power supply unit electronically controls 33⅓rpm and 45rpm as well as fine speed adjustment, and stores all settings in memory.
