HiFi & Surround in Copenhagen 2014

Studiokoncept had its trade fair premiere at HiFi & Surround in Copenhagen on 25-26 October (2014).
Very exciting, nervous and instructive.
Fortunately, the event at the Hilton Hotel at Kastrup seems to have been visitor-friendly. There were plenty of people on both days.
Big, big thank you to Sven Bilรฉn (Nomono.se), Lasse Andersson (Lasses-Hifi), Jรถrgen Olofsson (Marten) and Jorma Koski (Jordma Design) for all the help support and presence. It was an experience to see four "old men" in the weather when everyone tried to adjust the speaker placement to achieve the best possible sound! Getting a good sound in such a short time is a nightmare. I had clearly asked for all possible help.

The original plan was to play on 2 systems, one with Marten Tenor and Analogue Domain and another with Marten Django L and Exposure. Unfortunately, the room turned out to be too small for it to be done in a reasonably smooth way. It had to be the "heaviest" system with Tenor, Analog Domain, MSB Analog DAC, Jordma Design, Entreq grounding and Gigawatt power management.

Russell K. on the left and Marten Django L on the right. I had planned to swap between Tenor and Django L. Unfortunately, the room was too small to handle swaps in a sensible way. It ended up being a dry demo. The speaker on the left is from Russell K. It showed up just before the show. I had hoped to be able to "push" it into the demo, but as I said, it could not be done. But the quality of it means that I hope to be able to realise this next time.

On the left is the Exposure 3010 series that I had hoped to demo the Marten Django L with. On the right (under the cello) the new super find Grandinote.

I played a few phrases to give the visitors an idea of what the room sounded like "in the flesh" and then listened to the system's capacity to play back the room acoustics of the recording (a dream acoustic for a musician as opposed to the disgusting dryness of the hotel room).

I played a couple of phrases to give visitors an idea of what the room sounded like "in kind" and then listened to the system's ability to play back the room acoustics of the recording (a dream acoustic for a musician as opposed to the disgusting dryness of the hotel room). I hope the point was made. On the left are Exposure and Grandinote, which we only know the dry theme.
