The iFi Go Blu is a super-small DAC/headphone amplifier that can do great things with your music. It's a portable device that offers a Bluetooth 5.1 connection to your source device, although your headphones still need to be connected to the device.
Benefits of the iFi Go Blu include its detailed, comprehensive presentation, wired or wireless connectivity, and balanced and unbalanced inputs. The only downside mentioned is the lack of bit rate notification.
Despite its small size, comparable to two British postage stamps side by side and weighing just 26g, the iFi Go Blu is very attractive. It has a rotating dial in the top right corner that can be turned for volume control, or pressed in different ways to play, pause, skip tracks or access your phone's voice assistant.
The technical specifications include a 10-hour battery life (charging time: 40 minutes), Bluetooth 5.1 with aptX HD, aptX Low Latency, aptX Adaptive, LDAC, and 3.5 mm, 4.4 mm headphone outputs.
The device has a setting and Bluetooth function button, which can be pressed to switch between different sound effects: XBass, XSpace, the two combined, or off completely. It has balanced and unbalanced headphone jacks, using iFi's proprietary S-Balanced circuitry.
On the left side of the device is a dedicated power button, and at the bottom is a multi-purpose USB-C port. This USB-C socket is not only for charging, it also serves as an audio input, allowing you to connect USB from your source device. Hi-res PCM files up to 24-bit/96kHz are supported when the Go Blu is connected in this way.
