HIFIMAN Audivina is a pair of full-size, closed-back planar magnetic headphones that feature the latest stealth magnet technology. HIFIMAN has used a new Neo Supernano diaphragm, which they claim is a brand new NsD that is 80% thinner compared to previous versions offering a high level of detail and a realistic tonality, along with a scenic soundstage that is larger and more accurate than average.
Design: Audivina has large domes, although beautiful, they are prominent. They appear to be made of beech wood and use HIFIMAN's new internal resonance chamber design. The connection to the cabinets is the usual 3.5 mm connector, but this time HIFIMAN seems to have found a new way to construct the connectors and you can feel the difference. The connectors provide a nice and tight fit, and they provide a solid connection.
Comfort: The first thing you notice about the HIFIMAN Audivina is the light clamping force, which is measurably less than the Sundara variant and less than the Edition X, for example. This, along with the large cups and pads, creates a high level of comfort. One hardly feels these headphones, except for a slight squeeze of the cups and headband.
HIFIMAN has used a new Neo Supernano Diaphragm, which they claim is a brand new NsD that is 80% thinner than before. This theoretically improves transient response and speed as it is only 1 to 2 microns thin and light as air.
